Escher Group's Riposte software to be deployed in Iraq

Escher Group, the world’s number one supplier of postal counter automation and business applications to the postal industry, has announced that United Ramin Information Technology Solutions, Iraq (uRITS), is to deploy Riposte – Escher’s flagship messaging solution, for the Iraqi Post Office organisation.

Liam Church, president and CEO at Escher Group, said: “We are delighted to bring Riposte to Iraq. We see this as a wonderful opportunity to bring our innovative software to a new market and new users worldwide to support the development of modern day postal services based on a flexible and robust postal counter platform.”

Aziz Alnassiri, General Manger at uRITS, added: “The appointment will see uRITS furthering its vision to develop a technology bridge between Iraq and the rest of the world. uRiTS, a local Iraqi IT company established in 2004, has emerged as did our predecessors to deliver this pioneering endeavour throughout Iraq. uRiTS’ vision continues as a technology bridge between Iraq and the rest of the world and whose passion to empower people to deliver technology transfers and organisational transformations professionally for the betterment of all the peoples of Iraq.”

uRITS joins Escher’s customer base of 30 postal authorities, including Ireland, Norway, Austria, Germany, Portugal and many others that have implemented the Riposte family of products to support a full range of services from postal transactions to retail sales, bill payments, banking and government services.

PostNord delivers parcels into customers' homes

Nordic postal operator PostNord has partnered with Swedish lock manufacturer Assa Abloy to offer customers a new service where parcels can be delivered inside their door (full story here).

Customers who posses a digital lock, such as the Yale Doorman, can register for the service, which provides PostNord delivery personnel with a one-time code enabling them to enter the property and place the parcel inside. To view a video of the indoor delivery service, click on the link below.
