Canada Post joins Digital Main Street to support Toronto’s small businesses

canada post digital main street toronto small businesses postal and parcel technologyCanada Post has teamed up with Digital Main Street (DMS) to help 35,000 businesses to use technology solutions to improve e-commerce shipping and direct marketing.

DMS is an organization that helps local businesses and startups in Toronto find and implement technology that can help them grow.

Specifically, retailers will be able to better understand and access the shipping, logistics and e-commerce strategies and solutions that create a competitive end-to-end shopping experience first-hand from Canada Post.

DMS members will also benefit from an exclusive offer for Canada Post’s Snap Admail service, a simple online tool that allows businesses to create direct mail campaigns on any budget. They will also have access to its Solutions for Small Business program, which includes shipping and marketing discounts.

Rod Hart, general manager of parcels and e-commerce market development at Canada Post, commented, “We are thrilled to be partnering with Digital Main Street to support local Toronto businesses. By enabling small businesses to innovate and grow, we are helping them prepare for success in the challenging and evolving landscape of e-commerce.

PostNord delivers parcels into customers' homes

Nordic postal operator PostNord has partnered with Swedish lock manufacturer Assa Abloy to offer customers a new service where parcels can be delivered inside their door (full story here).

Customers who posses a digital lock, such as the Yale Doorman, can register for the service, which provides PostNord delivery personnel with a one-time code enabling them to enter the property and place the parcel inside. To view a video of the indoor delivery service, click on the link below.
