MNX unveils temperature controlled logistics facility in Amsterdam

MNX Global Logistics has opened its new dedicated supply chain and logistics facility in Amsterdam, Netherlands, located just outside of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.

The Life Sciences Logistics Centre features validated temperature-controlled supply chain capabilities and will serve as the operations and warehousing hub for the company’s life sciences and medical device customers throughout Europe.

Paul J Martins, CEO and president for MNX, said, “The demand for our services particularly in biologics, cold chain and medical devices logistics in the EMEA region has been tremendous and we have seen double-digit growth in the past 12 months. Customers with the need for expertise in regulatory transport, strict adherence to chain of custody, visibility, control and security of their high-value and time-critical products are turning more and more to MNX. Our investment in this new facility in Amsterdam is testament to MNX and our private equity partner The Riverside Company’s commitment to meet the needs and exceed the expectations of our customers.”

The new center has a storage capacity of approximately 14,000ft2, with the option to expand by an additional 18,300ft2 when needed. It also features -20°C (-4°F), 2-8°C (36-46°F) and 18°C (64°F) temperature controlled storage with 24/7 monitoring, back-up systems and state-of-the-art security. It has also been designed to meet the highest standards in the handling and movement of critical biopharmaceutical, radiopharmaceutical and medical device shipments.

Jan Willem Van ‘t Riet, senior vice president for EMEA, MNX, said, “The new Life Sciences Logistics Centre in Amsterdam allows us to provide cross docking, inventory storage and transportation for our clients needing temperature-sensitive control. In addition, our customers will benefit from our strict adherence to industry-wide compliance procedures and protocols and our direct ramp access to personally deliver and retrieve critical shipments from the airlines that serve Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.”
