Giro to showcase new GeoRoute Operations web app at POST-EXPO

The application, which is for local operations, allows depot managers to react quickly and efficiently to daily volume and product variations, while respecting operational constraints.

Changes in parcel volumes, product variations and rising competition have meant that strategic planning and dynamic routing have become key in reducing the costs associated with last-mile delivery.

The dynamic-planning features of the GeoRoute software means pre-planned, sustainable solutions can more easily be adjusted up to the final sorting, resulting in fewer operational processes and improvements to efficiency. Giro has also improved the software’s capability to forecast delivery volumes for the next day.

Often, more than 90% of product data is available before final sorting. Capitalizing on all available data is key to staying responsive to today’s market challenges, said Giro.

Giro provides route planning and optimization software to postal operators including Royal Mail, Bpost, Canada Post, La Poste, Deutsche Post DHL, Swiss Post, An Post and Posten.
