Post-Expo 2015: bpost upgrades to GeoRoute 2015

0

At this year’s Post-Expo, Giro announced that it had concluded an agreement to upgrade bpost’s GeoRoute installation to version 2015.

A GeoRoute client since 1999, bpost uses Giro’s software to manage the delivery and collection of mail, and the distribution of parcels and newspapers. bpost decided to upgrade its GeoRoute version in order to take advantage of a number of new features that facilitate the planning of value-added service (VAS) routes, improve the workflow of the daily-sequencing process, and fully automate all interfaces with other bpost systems.

VAS routes include a diverse range of products, which can require many routes to cover an area. GeoRoute 2015’s combined delivery features provide route planners with the flexibility to decide which products can best be delivered together or not. Within a few clicks, planners can determine whether or not creating dedicated routes for specific products is beneficial.

Jeroen d’Espallier, director, distribution process, bpost, said, “Facing the challenges of our ever-changing and highly competitive industry requires us to constantly renew our working methods. We expect GeoRoute’s upgraded version and its new functionalities to enable us further to improve the quality of services offered to our customers, while keeping costs under control.”

Serge Galarneau, general manager, routing, Giro, said, “We appreciate the close collaboration that we have enjoyed with bpost over the last 16 years. We are excited about moving forward with this upgrade and continuing to help bpost meet its customers’ evolving needs.”
