POST-EXPO 2017 OPENS!

POST-EXPO 2017, the world’s leading postal, parcel and courier industry exhibition, opened its doors in Geneva, Switzerland, today, for what promises to be its biggest and most exciting show yet.

More than 3,500 visitors from 90 different countries are expected to visit POST-EXPO 2017 over the next three days. The key industry event this year boasts over 150 exhibitors and more than 70 expert speakers, who are showcasing and discussing the latest and greatest technical innovations for the postal and parcel sectors.

POST-EXPO’s focus on innovation and technology ensures the show features the companies and products vital to the future of the sector. Technologies on show cover the whole breadth of the industry, ranging from the latest advances in drone deliveries to robots for sorting centers and digital solutions for customer service.

The leading companies in the sector are being celebrated at the Postal and Parcel Technology International Awards ceremony and drinks reception at 17.00hrs at the end of day one in the exhibition hall.

Meanwhile, for the first time, this year POST-EXPO, in partnership with the Postal Innovation Platform (PIP), is hosting a live Startup Innovation Jury, where the most promising young companies are showcasing their business ideas to senior industry executives.

Bernhard Bukovc, chairman of the PIP, said, “There is a lot of innovation happening in the postal sector and many changes that are re-shaping the sector. The startup innovation award session reflects these changes.

“Innovations being showcased are in the areas of drones, robotics, smart packaging, cross-border solutions and artificial intelligence. There are really exciting products and services that represent the future direction of the industry.”

POST-EXPO 2017’s conference, the World Postal Business Forum, organized in association with the Universal Postal Union, is based on the theme ‘Connecting the dots: e-commerce, technology and the postal network’. Postal industry leaders from across the globe are discussing the most important trends, opportunities and solutions which hold the potential to revolutionize the post and parcel industry.
