Doddle corporate membership increases by more than 300% in lead up to Christmas

Parcel shop operator Doddle has reported growth of 326% in corporate memberships during October and November 2015, with more than 100 firms offering employees Doddle memberships to ease mailroom pressure.

The operator claimed that the increase in memberships has accounted for 15% of all new Doddle members during the two-month period. With a number of large employers no longer permitting personal deliveries to the workplace, Doddle stores in central London and Canary Wharf have provided a quick solution ahead of Christmas. 

Since opening in August 2015, the Doddle store in Canary Wharf has reported growth in parcel volumes of more than 33% week on week. It currently receives an average of 450 deliveries every 24 hours or approximately 11,000 parcels per month. 

Matt Maer, director group security, Canary Wharf Group, the estate management company for the business district, said, “Doddle really helps to relieve the pressure on busy corporate post rooms here at Canary Wharf, especially at high seasons, by offering a service processing high volumes of parcels. We’re pleased that they are on board.” 

Tim Robinson, CEO for Doddle, said, “The dramatic increase in parcel volumes at this time of year presents a major challenge for employers. On one hand they are doing their best to offer a valuable employee benefit but at the same time balance the added resource costs that come with accepting personal deliveries. 

“It doesn’t have to be costly to maintain employee parcel benefits. We’re now working with more than 100 firms to reduce the pressure on mailrooms over Christmas and throughout the year, while they provide their employees with a solution to missed deliveries.”
