Emirates Post Group shares best practices with Oman Post delegation

A delegation from Oman Post visited Emirates Post Group’s (EPG) head office in Dubai recently to learn about the company’s best practices in postal operations and mail sorting systems.

The delegation was welcomed by Abdullah Mohammed Al Ashram, acting EPG CEO, who spoke of the importance of exchange visits for the purpose of benchmarking and boosting the overall performance of postal operations. The Oman Post delegation lauded EPG’s high standards in mail sorting and e-commerce operations.

Al Ashram said, “EPG has been at the forefront of innovation and technological development in the postal field, and our expertise and excellence in different areas, including in automated sorting systems, has served as a model for other institutions to follow. We are always keen to share our expertise with other postal administrations, especially those from brotherly countries. EPG strongly supports the government’s innovation strategy that aims to make the UAE one of the best countries in the world by 2021.”

The Oman Post delegation included Abdul Malik bin Abdul Karim Al Balushi, CEO; Hammoud Al Kharousi, assistant general manager of operations; and Al Ameera bint Juma Al-Hashemi, project manager engineer.

EPG has also announced the addition of South Africa and Uzbekistan to its Express EMS network, enabling UAE customers to send documents and other shipments to these two countries.

Ibrahim Bin Karam, chief commercial officer, EPG, said, “We are pleased to add South Africa and Uzbekistan to our Express EMS network. We are sure that our customers will find this a highly efficient channel for dispatching their documents and other mail items, due to our competitive pricing, speedy delivery and partnership with leading airlines.

“We have been putting a lot of efforts into improving our Express EMS product through better pricing and shorter delivery timeframe, as part of a strategy to offer significant value addition to customers. We are pleased to say that our efforts are reflected in increased number of customers for Express EMS service at 118 post offices across the country.”
