Point-of-sale software developer Escher Group has been formally elected to join the .post digital innovation group at the Universal Postal Union (UPU). UPU’s .post group has been established to link the physical and digital worlds, creating a secure platform that enables postal e-services to be delivered to all citizens and businesses.

Escher has been invited to participate in the development of the sponsored top-level domain (sTLD). The sTLD is available exclusively for the postal sector and will immediately identify legitimate postal services and avoid confusion for individuals, businesses and stakeholders. Escher Group will contribute postal digital applications that will help .post to integrate the physical, financial and electronic dimensions of postal services to enable and facilitate e-post, e-finance, e-commerce and e-government services.

Liam Church, CEO for Escher, said, “We are delighted to be selected to join the .post group and look forward to assisting the UPU in bringing new technological and digital capabilities to the global postal community.”

Paul Donohoe, programme manager, e-postal services and e-commerce, UPU, said. “The UPU is pleased to welcome Escher as an associate member of the .post group. Escher brings a wealth of experience in the delivery of digital services projects and we are sure they will contribute significantly to the further development of the .post platform.”
