Parcel Picker from Beumer Group helps posts achieve faster unloading times

0

A semi-automated Parcel Picker from Beumer Group is helping parcel distribution hubs to unload bulk parcel deliveries up three times faster than manual unloading.

When retrofitted to an existing telescopic conveyor, the Parcel Picker enables the available space to be reconfigured for the highest possible parcel handling capacity and ergonomic efficiency.

The Beumer Group’s Parcel Picker is designed to provide increased throughput and faster turnaround times, particularly in hubs that have few external unloading doors and a limited building size. By optimizing gate unloading efficiency per door, the Parcel Picker supports higher capacity and faster throughput which can help to support later cut-off times for next-day deliveries.

When unloading trucks, containers or swap bodies, the Parcel Picker offers three flexible unloading heights to ensure safe and gentle transfers to the telescopic conveyor. An ergonomically designed, height-adjustable working area also ensures ergonomic efficiency for the operator. For loose-loaded items from roller containers and cages, the Parcel Picker can be combined with a tipping station featuring specially designed pick-up conveyors which scoop the loose parcels onto the telescopic conveyor.

In addition to faster turnaround times, the Parcel Picker also requires minimal spare parts and maintenance costs to ensure a rapid return on investment (ROI).
